Debtor Help

If you owe one of our clients money and we have been instructed to collect the debt, we will use the information that our client has provided, and information gathered from third-party databases, to contact you in one or more of the following ways:

  • By letter
  • By telephone (home, mobile or at work)
  • By email
  • By SMS

If we do not receive any response from our communications we may instruct a trace agent to verify and/or provide a current address for you, which may lead to additional charges being added to your debt, if the contract with your creditor allows it.

For commercial debts, the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 may apply and interest may be added to the debt.

It is in your best interests to contact us as soon as possible following our letters. We will do our best to put in a place an agreement for the benefit of both you and our client.

However, if we cannot make any agreement to repay the debt, or you default on any agreements we make, our client may instruct us to begin legal proceedings against you. We will then pass the debt to a firm of solicitors who will begin proceeding towards a County Court Judgment (CCJ) and further enforcement.
